Actor and filmmaker John Krasinski reunited with Steve Carell, his former co-star from The Office, for an upcoming film IF. In a recent promotional event for his directorial project, Krasinski reunited with Carell for the first time in years since they played the roles of Jim Halpert and Michael Scott respectively. The footage shared by Paramount Pictures depicts their behind-the-scenes reunion. The actors are seen hugging one other and grinning from ear to ear while mentioning how long it had been since they last saw one another.
In the video, Krasinski refers to Carell as a “dear friend,” mentioning their previous collaboration. The footage shows them embracing in a recording studio. “So good to see you,” Krasinski says, to which Carell responds, “Oh my Lord.”
Krasinski then asks, “I was just telling you guys — has it been years?”
Carell jokingly points to the camera, saying, “I’m glad we’re getting it. This is so intimate.”
Krasinski said, “I just love that this is the fifth take and you did great on this,” which had Carell turn to face the door and retake their greeting.
“So anyway, I haven’t seen Steve in geez, it’s gotta be —.”
Krasinski takes a sip of water as Carell returns to the room and exclaims, “Oh my gosh!”
Krasinski spits in front of the camera at that point and remarks, “You look very nice, by the way.” “You do too. Anyway…” Carell says.
They joke about and reenact their encounter as though it had been staged for the camera, maintaining their humorous chemistry. After that, the video briefly shows Carell performing his voice acting part for IF.
“Reunited and it feeeeels so gooooood!”, the filmmaker wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The new family comedy IF, which stands for “Imaginary Friends,” centres on a young girl named Bea who starts seeing the imaginary friends that everyone else has left behind. Carell lends his voice to the role of Blue in the film. Blue, the main IF in the film of the same name, is a fluffy creature. Carell sounds like his usual charming self in the behind-the-scenes footage.
Meanwhile, Krasinski not only starred in the movie but also wrote and directed it. Krasinski established himself as a filmmaker with the 2018 horror picture A Quiet Place.
