Thalapathy Vijay is currently busy shooting his last film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69 before indulging in politics full-time. The film is directed by H Vinoth. Apart from Thalapathy Vijay, the film will star Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. Being his last film, the anticipation for the film has peaked well. The fans of the actor have been eagerly waiting for the new updates regarding the film. The official poster of the film was officially launched a month back. The team recently wrapped up a song shoot. The role of Thalapathy Vijay in the upcoming film has now been revealed.
As per media reports, Thalapathy Vijay will be playing the role of a former police officer. The film is expected to address an important social issue. Thalapathy Vijay will be playing a cop for the first time since the 2016 release, Theri – directed by Atlee. It will be interesting to see how H Vinoth has written the cop role for Vijay, given his earlier film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru was also a critically acclaimed police story.
Vijay last donned the police uniform in Theri, the 2016 Tamil action thriller directed by Atlee. The film is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Theri also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson, Nainika, Radhika Sarathkumar, Rajendran and Mahendran. The film is being remade in Hindi as Baby John featuring Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. The film revolves around a cop who retires to a silent and exile life and lives with his mother-less daughter. After a certain turn of events, the father has to take up violence to protect his child.
The project was initially written for Kamal Haasan. The actor was also seen training with guns and bullets. Thalapathy Vijay might be seen dealing with guns and knives to deliver an action-packed drama. It must be noted that H Vinoth initially narrated the cop story to Vijay but he later collaborated with Kamal Haasan for the film. When Kamal Haasan stepped back from the film, H Vinoth moved towards Thalapathy Vijay once again to start again with the project.
