Social activist files PIL against Sanjay Dutt's early release

This was expected. A social activist Pradip Bhalekar is filing a PIL against Sanjay Dutt’s early release.

Dutt will be released from Jail on Thursday after serving 42 months in Yerwada jail in Pune. In May 2013, the Supreme Court had upheld the Tada court’s sentence and awarded the actor five years of imprisonment under the Arms Act for his role in the 1993 Bombay bomb blast case.

The PIL is yet to be circulated and has not been admitted, but it could likely be taken up before a bench tomorrow.The PIL alleges special treatment for the actor. Dutt has been out on parole on several occasions due to personal reasons. In all,144 days of remissions had been granted to the actor.
