Actress Shraddha Kapoor has proved her acting prowess in the films Haider, Aashiqui 2, The Villain and others. She recently spoke about box office success, her journey as an actress and her father actor Shakti Kapoor during the NDTV World Summit in Delhi on October 21.
The Haider actress shared that she always turns to her father for professional advice, having known his tenacity and grit while negotiating the film industry. Shraddha said that she also takes advice from her aunt and actress Padmini Kolhapure, known for her critically acclaimed roles in Prem Rog, Vidhaata, etc. Talking about her father, Shraddha said, “When people come up to me and say, We are big fans of your father, it’s another feeling altogether. My father didn’t come from a film family. He has come from Delhi, it’s his home. I have spent a large part of my childhood here."
Shraddha last played the female lead in the horror comedy film Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, which was a blockbuster success at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this film minted Rs 873.79 crore worldwide. Stree 2 starred an ensemble star cast of actors Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Atul Srivastava, Aparshakti Khurana and others in important roles. The film received mixed reviews from the audience who appreciated the acting performances but criticised some predictable situations in the storyline.
Besides the acting, the film’s music also gained positive reviews from the critics. One of the songs from the film that became a chartbuster is the Kati Raat Maine Kheton Mein Tu Aayi Nahi. The musical duo of Sachin-Jigar has composed the film’s music while Pawan Singh, Simran Choudhary, Divya Kumar & Sachin-Jigar have sung this track. Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics. Shraddha received accolades from the audience for her dancing prowess in the song.
In a fan interaction held in February 2024, Shraddha revealed that her upcoming projects will be based on time travel and mythology.
