Following Ratan Tata's passing, Ajay Devgn delayed his plans for the scheduled Q&A session with fans.

Condolences are pouring in following the Tata Group’s announcement that Ratan Tata, their chairman emeritus and one of India’s most illustrious industrialists, passed away on Wednesday. He was 86. The news sent shockwaves across the nation. Tributes have been pouring in from all corners, with many acknowledging his monumental contributions to business and society. Ratan Tata, who transformed the Tata Group into one of India’s largest conglomerates, was also fondly remembered by stars from the film industry.

While many celebrities extended their condolences, actor Ajay Devgn announced the postponement of his #AskAjay session on the X. The Singham Again star had initially thrilled fans by announcing the popular Q&A session for Thursday at 2 PM. However, following the heartbreaking news of Ratan Tata’s passing, he quickly altered his plans. “In honour and respect of the late Ratan Tata Sir, we are postponing tomorrow’s #AskAjay until further notice,” the actor shared in a late-night post.

In another post, Ajay Devgn also mourned the demise of Ratan Tata and shared his condolences. He wrote, “The world mourns the loss of a visionary. Ratan Tata’s legacy will forever inspire generations. His contributions to India and beyond are immeasurable. We are deeply grateful. Rest in peace, Sir.”

Besides him, many other BTown celebs also joined in to pay homage to the legendary industrialist, including Salman Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Rohit Shetty, Shraddha Kapoor, R Madhavan and others.

Ratan Tata’s Health Issues

After being hospitalised for some time due to age-related health issues, the 86-year-old veteran industrialist Ratan Tata passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on October 9, 2024.

Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran confirmed the news in a statement and said, “It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation. To me, he was a mentor, guide, and friend. He inspired by example.”

His last rites will be performed on Thursday and he will be given a state funeral, said Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde. Prior to that, his mortal remains will be kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) for people to pay their last respects.
