Mr Bachchan Box Office: Ravi Teja-starrer Mints Rs 3.4 Crore On Day 1
The film Mr Bachchan saw a 41.18 per cent overall occupancy rate in Telugu-speaking regions.

After the average box office collection of the film Eagle, actor Ravi Teja graced the silver screens for the second time this year with a Telugu remake of the Bollywood film Raid. The film is titled Mr Bachchan. It is directed by Harish Shankar and stars Jagapathi Babu and Bhagyashri Borse in prominent roles apart from Ravi Teja in the titular role.

Made under a budget of Rs 80 crore, the film was released on August 15. The film opened with a collection of Rs 3.45 crore at the box office. The theatrical release of Mr Bachchan clashed with Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart at the box office.

According to Sacnilk, Mr Bachchan garnered approximately Rs. 3.45 crore in net collection within India on its opening day. The film saw a 41.18 per cent overall occupancy rate in Telugu-speaking regions. The highest turnout during the afternoon shows peaked at 53.75 per cent. However, the morning and night showings saw significantly lower audience attendance, at 35.04 and 30.73 per cent, respectively. The worldwide collection of the film currently stands at Rs 7.50 crore.

The film is produced under the banner of People Media Factory. The music of the film was composed by Mickey J Meyer. It will mark the third collaboration of this music composer with Harish Shankar after Subramanyam for Sale and Gaddalakonda Ganesh.

Mr Bachchan is the remake of Ajay Devgn starrer Raid. It was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film starred Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D’Cruz in prominent roles. The viewers are reportedly disappointed with the remake of the blockbuster film Raid. The critics have called it a soulless adaptation of Raid due to its sole focus on Ravi Teja’s performance excluding the required rigour and emotion. The film follows the story of the real-life income tax raid conducted on Indian industrialist Sardar Inder Singh.

In comparison, Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart relatively collected more than Ravi Teja’s Mr Bachchan. It earned Rs 7.35 crore at the box office. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced under the banner of Puri Connects.
