Actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the nuptial knot with the actor Zaheer Iqbal on June 23 in Mumbai in a civil marriage ceremony. The couple received best wishes from their friends, and parents but Sonakshi’s brother and actor Luv Sinha was not present at the wedding. In a tweet, the Paltan actor wrote a cryptic tweet stating that he would not associate with some people no matter what happens. Let us take a look at Luv’s not-so-successful stint in acting and politics.
Luv had tried to follow his father and prominent actor Shatrughan Sinha’s footsteps in acting. He made his debut in the film industry with the project Sadiyaan: Boundaries Divide… Love Unites directed by Raj Kanwar. The film, released on April 2, 2010, failed to entertain the audience and flopped miserably at the box office. Sadiyaan starred an ensemble star cast of actors Rekha, Jawed Sheikh, Avtar Gill and others.
Following the failure of his debut film, Luv tried his luck in the acting field again with the 2018 release Paltan directed by JP Dutta. Paltan boasted a stellar star cast of actors Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal and many others. Luv enacted the role of the 2nd Lt (later Captain) Attar Singh. Despite a power-packed star cast and a directed by a prominent filmmaker JP Dutta, Paltan flopped at the box office. Following the failure of Paltan, Luv has stepped away from the acting field. Except for Gadar 2, he has not been associated with any renowned films so far.
When his stint in the films couldn’t work, Luv tried his fortunes in politics. The 41-year-old actor contested the Bihar Assembly elections in 2020 on an Indian National Congress ticket. Luv fought from Bankipore but lost to 3-time Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Legislative Assembly Nitin Nabin by 39,000 votes.
Currently, Luv is dominating the headlines for his now-deleted post on Twitter about Zaheer Iqbal’s Father Iqbal Ratansi. He shared an excerpt from an article which read, “With carefully curated news stories about his family business, nobody tread grey areas like the groom’s father’s proximity to a politician whose ED enquiries had vanished in the ‘washing machine’. Nor was there a whiff of the groom’s father’s stint in Dubai…”
