Mithun Chakraborty has been hospitalised. The actor-turned-politician was rushed to the Apollo Hospital’s emergency unit in Kolkata on Saturday, February 10. Reportedly, the actor was not feeling well following which he was taken to the hospital. Later, through their medical bulletin, the hospital informed that Mithun suffered Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke. Now, the veteran actor’s son Mimoh has given a fresh update that will come as a relief for the Mithun fans.
Speaking with the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, Mimoh shared, “Dad is a hundred percent fine. He was admitted to the hospital for a routine sugar-level check-up. He is super-fine now and he is being discharged from hospital today.”
Meanwhile, Mithun’s wife Yogita Bali also quipped, “He’s absolutely okay now. His sugar levels had shot up. Now it’s totally under control.”

“Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist,” the statement read.
Mithun Chakraborty has had an illustrious journey in the film industry since 1976 and has been the recipient of several prestigious honours including the National Award among others. He is known for films like Disco Dancer, Jung, Prem Pratigyaa, Pyar Jhukta Nahin and Mard among others. Recently, Mithun was also named as one of the recipients of the Padma Bhushan Awardees 2024.
