Many films across the country have been released at the cinema halls in August. These projects have entertained the viewers with either the storyline or the acting prowess of the actors. From Kottukkaali to Blink, the list is too long to begin with. Enlisted here are new films that hit theatres in August and are streaming on different OTT platforms in September.
1. Kottukkaali (August 23, 2024)- PS Vinothraj has written and directed this film that started streaming on Amazon Prime on September 27. This film stars Anna Ben, Soori and Jawahar Sakthi in important roles. SK Productions and The Little Wave Productions have produced this film. The director Vinothraj was the winner of the Transilvania International Film Festival under the International Competition category.
2. Demonte Colony 2 (August 15, 2024)- R Ajay Gnanamuthu has written and directed this bilingual (Telugu and Tamil) film, a sequel to the 2015 released Demonte Colony. This sequel has started streaming on the online platform Zee 5 from September 27, 2024. Arulnithi, Priya Bhavani Shankar and others have played important roles in Demonte Colony 2. BTG Universal, Gnanamuthu Pattarai and Raaj Varma Entertainment have backed this film.
3. Minmini (August 9, 2024)- Written and directed by Halitha Shameem, Minmini stars Esther Anil, Gaurav Kaalai and Pravin Kishore in important roles. This film is available to watch on the OTT platform Tentkotta from September 27. Anchor Bay Studios, Baby Shoe Production and Stage Unreal have produced Minmini, a bilingual (Tamil and Malayalam) film.
4. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (August 29, 2024)- Vivek Athreya penned and directed Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, a fast-paced thriller. Headlined by Nani, Murli Sharma and others, this film received a mixed response from the audience. This film started streaming on the OTT platform Netflix from September 26, 2024.
5. Blink (March 8, 2024)- Blink, featuring Chaithra J Achar and Suresh Anagalli in the lead roles, is a sci-fi thriller. Bengaluru Srinidhi has written and directed this film. Blink was released in Tamil on the OTT platform Aha Tamil on September 25, 2024. It is also available to watch on Amazon Prime. Janani Pictures has produced this film which received positive reviews from the audience.
