Kiara Advani will be representing India at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival which has started today. The actress is slated to be part of the Women in Cinema Gala. The Bombay Times reportedly mentioned that Kiara will grace the Red Sea Film Foundation celebrating Women in Cinema Gala Dinner. Well, till now Bollywood actresses including Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan, and others have also been part of the festival.
The report further mentions the dinner will be hosted by Vanity Fair at Cannes. The event brings together six talented women from around the world and recognizes their contributions to the entertainment field. Moreover, Variety reported that four panel discussions about global incentives and filming will take place at the Cannes Film Festival. These will be held at La Plage Des Palmes on May 18, 2024. Kiara is set to participate in the Red Sea International Film Festival panel.
India is set to host a ‘Bharat Parv’ at the 77th Cannes Film Festival for eminent dignitaries and delegates from around the world to showcase the myriad creative opportunities in the country. At the prestigious film gala, a delegation consisting of representatives from central and state governments as well as members of the industry will showcase India’s creative economy in Marche du Films through a series of significant initiatives, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said on Friday.
It will be for the first time that the country will host a Bharat Parv at the Cannes Film Festival to engage with film celebrities, filmmakers, directors, producers, buyers and sales agents from across the world and showcase the creative opportunities and a rich bank of creative talent.
Meanwhile, Kiara Advani is all set to step into the action genre with Don 3. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film will also star Ranveer Singh in the lead. Previously, Kiara was speaking to ABP News when she admitted that Don 3 would be her first action film. She shared that she consciously decided to sign this movie to break away from the way the audience has seen her as of now.
“I think this was a conscious decision. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to change it up for myself. This was one genre I was longing to get myself to do, change the vibe, change the way I have been perceived so far. That’s what is exciting, right? As an actor, you are constantly stepping into different characters and making the world believe that this is what you are. There will be a lot of prep for the film (Don 3). I have got time to do that and I am very excited. I have never done an action movie. Now is my time to do some action,” Kiara said.
