The highly anticipated sequel to the record-breaking Disney and Pixar film, Inside Out 2, is now available for streaming on an OTT platform in India. The film continues Riley’s story as she navigates the challenges of adolescence. As she grapples with growing up, her mind encounters new emotions—Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui—which add complexity to her life. Beyond entertaining children, Inside Out 2 invites adult viewers to reflect on their own unresolved childhood emotions. While still screening in select theatres worldwide, the film is now available for streaming just three months after its theatrical release.
Where to watch:
Directed by Kelsey Mann, the animated hit is now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. To celebrate the release, the team shared an exciting new teaser featuring various one-word reviews from critics, who described the film as dazzling, heartfelt, thrilling, adventurous and eye-popping animation. Sharing the teaser, the team wrote, “It’s TIMEEEE. Inside Out 2 is now streaming on #Disney Plus Hotstar in Hindi and English.”
In an earlier interview with the Academy, director Kelsey Mann spoke about his inspiration behind Inside Out 2. He said, “This movie was really inspired by some of my birthday pictures. As I was going through them, I saw this photo of me when I was five years old. It was my birthday, and I was sitting there with the biggest smile on my face. And then, I turned eight and then 11, 13 and you could see my smile just diminished. It diminished to the point where I was 13, and I was just sitting there staring at the cake. I looked miserable, and it was such a contrast from when I was five. I was like, ‘What happened?’ I hated being sung happy birthday to at that age. I hated everyone looking at me, and it’s because of the emotions you start to feel at that age.”
Meanwhile, Inside Out 2 features Amy Poehler (Joy), along with Maya Hawke (Anxiety), Ayo Edebiri (Envy), Tony Hale (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Liza Lapira (Disgust), Paul Walter Hauser (Embarrassment) and Adele Exarchopoulos (Ennui).
