Huma Qureshi Starts Shooting For Her Next, Gulabi, In Ahmedabad

After the success of her popular web series, Maharani 3, which received immense love from her fans, Huma Qureshi is grabbing the headlines again as she is gearing up for her next film, Gulabi. As per reports, the actress is in Ahmedabad for the shoot of the upcoming film, where she will be portraying the role of an auto-rickshaw driver.

Huma Qureshi, who has previously worked in a few noteworthy films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Dedh Ishqiya, Badlapur and Monica, O My Darling will feature in a women-centric film next. The actress shared a sneak peek on Instagram. In the photo, the Ek Thi Daayan actress is dressed in a printed saree, black thread with a pendant around her neck, and bindi on the forehead. She can be seen holding a clapboard which read “Muhurat Shot”. The caption read, “Gulabi is here! Filming Now.”

Her peers and fans took to the comment section to shower her with love and praise. Actress Bhumi Pednekar wrote, “Kill it.” Citylights actress, Patralekhaa commented, “My sister.” Deepika Padukone’s sister, Anisha Padukone shared a string of arm emojis depicting power. A fan wished, “Congratulations and all the best!!” Another fan excitedly wrote, “I am waiting eagerly for Gulabi.”

Vipul Mehta’s directorial, Gulabi is the story of an auto-rickshaw driver. The film was first announced on International Women’s Day, leaving her fans buzzing with excitement. Gulabi is based on the real-life incident of a brave auto-rickshaw driver who became a symbol of change and inspired many other women. In an interview, producer Vishal Rana shared that he is thrilled to start shooting for Gulabi in Ahmedabad. The project aims to bring forward a story that the audience will like. He further added that Huma has already showcased her excellent acting skills in her career and is once again ready to spread her magic on the silver screen.

On the work front, Huma Qureshi was last seen in Tarla, based on the renowned cook, Tarla Dalal. Directed by Piyush Gupta, it also stars Sharib Hashmi, Bharati Achrekar, Bhawana Somaaya and Amarjeet Singh.
