It is often said that comedy is the most difficult art as it takes a lot to make people laugh and those who excel in it deserve all the praise in the world. There are numerous personalities who have made a livelihood out of making people laugh and Bharti Singh is one of them. Today, Bharti’s name is synonymous with comedy and laughter. Bharti Singh was born in Amritsar. Her father died when she was just two years old. Hard times fell upon the family and there were times when she had to go to sleep on an empty stomach. With much struggle, her mother got her and her two older siblings educated and Bharti graduated from BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar.
Bharti achieved the position of second runner-up in the stand-up comedy reality show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge on STAR One, gaining praise for her portrayal of the character Lalli. Following this, she participated as a contestant on Comedy Circus and later co-hosted Comedy Nights Bachao alongside Krishna Abhishek. Her unique brand of comedy soon made her a fan favourite. Her ability to imitate a little girl and her roasting abilities were what endeared her to the fans. From 2014 through 2016, she hosted seasons 5 through 7 of India’s Got Talent. She has also been a contestant on shows like Nach Baliye and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Bharti reportedly charges Rs 10 to 12 lakh for an episode of a show. Her net worth is around Rs 29 crore. Bharti tied the knot with Harsh Limbachiyaa in 2017 after several years of dating. The couple also welcomed a son together in 2022.
