Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated and extravagantly budgeted web series Heeramandi is generating significant buzz this year. The makers pulled out all the stops for a lavish screening event on Wednesday, drawing some of the biggest names in the industry such as Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. Alongside Bollywood luminaries, a plethora of TV stars were also on the guest list. Notably, Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui made a stylish appearance at the event and was spotted engaging in conversations with fellow actors.
Footage from the grand screening has emerged on social media featuring comedian Munawar Faruqui in attendance. The comedian wore a simple white kurta and trousers to the event. In one of the videos, Munawar was seen coming across Vicky Kaushal. In one particular video clip, Munawar was captured interacting with actor Vicky Kaushal. The two shared a warm hug before engaging in a brief exchange.

Sharing the official teaser of the series, Munawar’s post sparked excitement and anticipation among his fans. The teaser, which runs for over one minute, transports viewers back to 1999, a time when DVDs were immensely popular. First Copy is helmed by writer-director Farhan P Zamma and features a stand-up comedian in the lead role. The series is a collaborative effort between Kurji Productions and Salt Media. While the premiere date and OTT platform for First Copy are yet to be announced, the teaser has already generated significant buzz.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is set to stream on Netflix on May 1. It stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan and Adhyayan Suman also play pivotal roles. The historical drama series takes viewers to a time when courtesans served as monarchs. The series explores the cultural realities of the namesake district of Heera Mandi through the stories of courtesans and their patrons, set against the volatile backdrop of India’s Independence struggle in the 1940s.
