Guru Randhawa Collaborates With The Chainsmokers For A Reimagination Of 'Addicted'
Sharing the good news with fans on Instagram, Guru Randhawa dropped a poster featuring him with Jonita Gandhi and The Chainsmokers.

Guru Randhawa treated fans with the latest single titled Addicted on his birthday on August 30. The song marks his first collaboration along with singer Jonita Gandhi, with American electronic sensation The Chainsmokers, Brazilian DJ Zerb and German producer Ink. The exciting cross-continental partnership marks a significant shift in the music world, where Indian rhythms are blending with international dance beats for fans globally.

Addicted has already made waves with its initial release, garnering over 140 million streams and topping Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts. With its blend of house beats and cultural elements, the song is expected to continue its success and make its mark on the global music landscape.

Sharing the good news with fans on Instagram, Guru Randhawa dropped a post that included a poster featuring him with Jonita Gandhi and The Chainsmokers. Accompanying the poster, he wrote, “Guru Randhawa X Chainsmokers. Addicted with the Chainsmokers, Jonita Music, Zerb and Ink Out now on all streaming platforms. Enjoy.”

The Chainsmokers, known for chartbusters such as Closer and Don’t Let Me Down, spoke about their new collaboration. As per reports, they said in a statement, “Our music has always been about connection, and we have so many incredible fans in India that we love. We can’t think of a better way to authentically connect with them than linking with artists like Jonita and Guru jumping on our song and bringing their culture and style to it. These collaborations don’t always work out but we feel really strongly about how well they kept the integrity of the song, but elevated it with their talent!”

On the other hand, Guru Randhawa reportedly expressed, “I am thrilled to bring a fresh Indian flavour to this global chartbuster by Chainsmokers and Zerb. It’s an exciting journey to reimagine a song that resonates with so many and give it a new life for the Indian diaspora. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it and I hope you’ll love it like we have loved creating this one for you guys.”

The new track, composed by The Hello Group and TH3RD BRAIN and A&R’d by Taylor Jones, also features industry hitmakers Zerb and Ink. It was also co-written and bankrolled by Alawn and Taylor Jones, known for their work in K-Pop.

Besides his new international collaboration, Guru Randhawa is looking forward to his upcoming Moon Rise tour, which will span 10 cities. The national concert will start in October in Indore and go on till December. Randhawa shared an announcement poster for his music tour on Instagram with the caption, “GURU RANDHAWA MOON RISE TOUR. So excited to share my 2024 tour dates with you all.”

Moreover, Guru Randhawa is all set to make his debut in Punjabi cinema with his upcoming film, Shahkot. Directed by Rajiv Dhingra, the film will see the singer sharing screen space with Isha Talwar, Raj Babbar, Seema Kaushal, Hardip Gill and Gurshabad. The film will be released on October 4.
