Esha Deol congratulated her mother, actress-turned-politician Hema Malini on her win in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Hema Malini beat Congress candidate Mukesh Dhanger in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura. She got Hema recorded 507,535 EVM votes and 2,529 postal votes. As a result she won the constituency with 510,064 votes.
Taking to Instagram, Esha Deol shared a picture of Hema and congratulated her on her third consecutive win. “Congratulations mamma ♥️ Hat trick ,” she wrote. However, she disabled the comments section.
On Wednesday morning, Hema was presented with the winning certificate in UP. A video of the same was shared by ANI on X. She also joined her party members to celebrate her win.

Speaking with ANI after her win, Hema told the press, “I am very happy that I am getting a chance to serve people for the third time, I thank the people… I am getting an opportunity to complete all the work that was left incomplete… I also thank the workers of our alliance.”
A trained Bharatnatyam dancer and recipient of the Padma Shri in 2000, Hema Malini began her political career in 1999. She campaigned for fellow actor Vinod Khanna, a BJP candidate for the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat in Punjab.
In 2003, Malini was nominated to the Rajya Sabha for a six-year term by President APJ Abdul Kalam and officially joined the BJP in 2004. She became BJP general secretary in 2010 and returned to the Rajya Sabha in 2011 on the recommendation of party general secretary HN Ananth Kumar.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Hema Malini won the Mathura constituency from RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary with a margin of 22.65%. She retained the seat in 2019 with a 60.88% vote share, while her opponent, Kunwar Narendra Singh of the RLD, received 34.26%.
