Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt who began their journey together with Student of the Year have been part of memorable films over the years including Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Their onscreen chemistry has always been lauded by fans, while the two also share a friendly relationship off-screen. The two are often seen supporting each other in their various personal or professional endeavours. One such instance was when Varun expressed his gratitude to Alia for granting a No Objection Certificate to use her name in his film Judwaa 2.
Alia Bhatt’s name was mentioned in the Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer film Judwaa 2 which was released in 2017. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) thus asked the filmmakers to seek an NOC from the actress, which she was happy to grant. Upon the film’s release, Alia took to her X handle and showered praise on the film while praising Varun. She wrote, “Judwaa 2 is everything you imagine it to be and MORE!!! Fun, entertaining, adorable and aptly nostalgic!! Varun Dhawan you are sooooo good!!!” Reacting to the same, Varun thanked Alia for her positive review and showed his gratitude for the NOC. He wrote, “Thank u A and thank u for giving me the NOC.”

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s on-screen chemistry is something that the fans cannot get enough of with multiple fan pages dedicated to them. While talking about a third part of the popular Dulhania franchise with Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan said during an interview with Pinkvilla, “I feel that’s something that we have all discussed as a team a lot; we definitely want to do it. At the same time, we want to get something that is going to be damn good to make sure that all of you are also very excited to see that.”
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of Raj & DK’s Indian spy action TV series Citadel: Honey Bunny on November 7. He will share screen space with Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the first time in the production. He is also working on his much-awaited film Baby John, which is directed by Kalees. Atlee and his wife Priya are producing the film. The project also includes Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh and Rajpal Yadav. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra is about to hit the big screen on October 11. It is directed by Vasan Bala and also stars Vedang Raina.
