Demon Slayer Season 4 Reunites The Shinazugawa Brothers In New Episode
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's episode features an emotional reunion between the Shinazugawa brothers, Sanemi and Genya.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 4 is back with a surprise in episode 5, which was released on June 9. The episode, titled I Even Ate Demons, features an emotional reunion between the Shinazugawa brothers, Sanemi and Genya. The Shinazugawa brothers, who have a complicated but deep relationship, will come face to face once more. Their fight stems from a misunderstanding. Genya blamed his brother Sanemi for killing their mother, not knowing that his mother was a demon at the time. Their mother killed all their siblings except for Genya. Therefore, Sanemi had to kill their mother to save themselves.

It will be interesting to see how fans react to the Shinazugawa brothers coming together. Ufotable, a Japanese animation studio that has produced the Demon Slayer series, shared a sketch of Sanemi Shinazugawa and Genya Shinazugawa on June 9. This sketch got over seven lakh likes in less than a day showing fans are excited to see the brother together. The studio also announced special merch featuring the Shinazugawa brothers will be launched.

According to the Demon Slayer fandom Wikipedia, Sanemi Shinazugawa is a powerful Demon Slayer who uses the Wind Breathing technique to fight his rivals. His younger brother Genya Shinazugawa is also a Demon Slayer and is Five survivors of the Final Selection.

Season 4 of Demon Slayer deals with the Hashira Training Arc. This storyline has opened up the anime to some moments of exploration for the Hashira members who were otherwise relegated to just background characters. Now it appears that the Shinazugawa brother’s backstory will get more screen time. It is interesting to note the Hashira Training Arc, which adapts from the 15th and 16th volumes (chapters 128–136) of the manga, is one the shortest arcs in the manga series. The focus on other characters can be a way of expanding the source material for the show.

Demon Slayer season 4, which premiered on May 12 with a one-hour episode, is already expected to be the shortest season of the anime. Even though it’s unclear how many episodes will be released this season, many think the season will cap at episode eight or nine. This speculation is supported by the fact that the Demon Slayer series has progressively reduced the number of episodes with each progressing season. The first season 1 had 26 episodes, season 2 had 18 episodes, and season 3 had 11 episodes.
