In yet another gruesome incident of killing over illicit relationship, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband on Monday morning at a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki. The accused, identified as Motilal who suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair, was arrested by the police.
Motilal was a resident of the Mahmudabad police station area located in the Sitapur district, as per police. He and his wife, Rajni used to work at a brick kiln in the Baddupurwa village which comes under the Ghunghter police station area and used to live there in a hut.
While talking about the incident, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh said that the accused suspected his wife of having an illicit relationship with someone due to which the couple had a fight on Monday morning.
During the altercation, Motilal attacked his wife in a fit of rage, several times with a shovel kept inside the hut. After the attack, Rajni died on the spot, police added.
In connection to the case, the police has registered an FIR and inititated an investigation. The SP further said that the husband was arrested after sometime from an area near the incident site.
Few days ago, a 35-year-old woman from Bareily’s Gotiya village was allegedly burnt to death by her husband after he found her in a compromising state with another man.
Following the incident, a charred body of the woman, identified as Anjali was found in a field near the village late on Saturday night. The area where the deceased was found comes under the Shahi Police Station.
The woman’s husband Nepal Singh, was arrested by the police on murder charges after her family accused him of burning her alive.
