Mumbai: The excitement of the devotees waiting to get the first glimpse of their favourite Ganpati outside Lalbaughcha Raja was quite palpable. People from all walks of life were seen standing in a queue during the wee hours to seek blessings from the deity on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. All we could her around was the reverberating sound of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya'.
As per reports there are only 976 mandals, who have got permission to erect temporary structures on municipal roads and footpaths. Therefore the number of Pandals have dropped down by 200 this year. Also traffic is a major issue in the city and during peak hours it gets worse.
