Twenty-five young dancers from Ulyanovsk in Russia have landed in the city to awe the spectators with their dance routine at the Co-Bank Towers on Saturday. Exhaustion notwithstanding, these youngsters showed off some of their moves for the cameras at the Russian Cultural Centre immediately after flying in from Pune. The performance will begin at 6.30 pm.
Part of a 300-strong performance ballet ‘Exciton’, based in their hometown, the young dancers have been training since they were three years old, according to Vladimir Pivovarov, assistant director of Dostoyanie - the organisation in association with which the Russian Cultural Centre and Jeevan Club are organising the performance.
’Our ambassador to India, Alexander M Kadakin, wanted India to see the best child dancers of our country so here we are,’’ said Pivovarov.
Exciton has won competitions at national and international levels winning the Grand Prix of All-Russia and international competitions, held in countries including Germany, Spain and China.
