Mumbai: Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, who is being projected as the chief ministerial candidate by his party, on Thursday said he wanted to have an opportunity to work for the good of the state.
Speaking at a function to launch the music DVD 'Pahava Vithal', inspired by his aerial photography of the Pandharpur pilgrimage, Uddhav said photography was his hobby and passion and if his work gave satisfaction and happiness to the people he would continue with his passion.
An artist's true happiness lies in another artist's compliment, he added.
The 30-minute DVD has 'abhangs' (devotional/philosophical poetry of saint-poets), sung by Shankar Mahadevan. Responding to a remark by noted singer Suresh Wadkar at the function that he was congratulating the "next Chief Minister", the Shiv Sena president said his only wish was to have an opportunity "to do good for the state".
Mahadevan said on this occasion that Thackeray's aerial photographs of the pilgrimage inspired the DVD. Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain released the DVD.
