THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan told the Assembly on Tuesday that he would not be frightened off by attacks targeted at his family members.The Opposition leader, taking part in discussions on the Appropriation Bill, was reacting to demands from the Treasury Benches for a CBI investigation into the allegations against his son Arun Kumar. Achuthanandan said he was not averse to a CBI inquiry into the allegations against his son, but the UDF may club that investigation along with similar investigations into the palmolein and TTP scams.“I’ve been listening to this for many years now. I fought for 20 years on the Edamalayar case and R Balakrishna Pillai has been jailed for one year now,” the Opposition Leader said. Achuthanandan said he would not drop his fight against corruption and those involved in sex scams even if his family was targeted.Achuthanandan said he, and his colleagues in the Opposition, would fight until the people, who forced Sunaina Najmal and Nibana Sunny to commit suicide, were arrested.
