Manorama was arrested by Pune Rural Police last month in connection with a case filled in Paud police station for threatening a local farmer.

A video of Manorama walking out of jail surfaced on the internet.

Manorama Khedkar was arrested on July 18 in connection with a video in which she was seen brandishing a firearm and threatening a group of villagers. She was charged with ‘attempt to murder’. She was also charged under the Arms Act for brandishing a pistol and relevant sections of the new criminal code, Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).

Meanwhile, authorities are hunting for Khedkar as the sacked IAS trainee went missing fearing arrest. Reportedly, she also switched off her phone. Earlier, some reports claimed that she had fled to Dubai fearing arrest. However, as per sources, no immigration record was found regarding Kedkar’s travel.

Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Thursday had denied anticipatory bail to Khedkar, stating that allegations levelled against her are serious and “require a thorough investigation”.

Khedkar, who has not been arrested in the case, had approached the court through her lawyer, saying she faces “immediate threat of arrest”.
