The girl managed to escape but miscreants did not stop and continued to trail her. They were caught only after the police and the girl's family members intervened.
One of the arrested boy is Chhatrapal Singh, former Secretary of Ruhelkhand University Student Union. Singh had been booked in a few cases earlier too.
After the arrest when the photo journalists and camera persons tried to take his pictures, Singh asked them to switch off their equipments, saying he has not involved in the abduction attempt. Why will we run after this girl. There are many girls in this world," the 22-year-old Singh said.
Singh has been in jail in connection with several cases including murder, but he was neither ashamed not feared the police.
Singh has been arrested with his four other friends when they tried to abduct the school. The incident took place on December 25 when some girls were returning home after attending a Christmas party in Bareily. On the way the girls passed a liquor vend where some boys passed lewd comments.

When the family members and police reached the shop, the boys tried to flee but they were caught by the people. Police have arrested five accused and lodged FIR against them.
