Two workers die in tunnel collapse

ANANTAPUR:Two persons engaged in Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) canal works died in a incident that took place near Chennarayunipalle of Bukkapatnam mandal on Monday.According to information reaching here, the workers were undertaking tunnel works when suddenly, the upper part of the tunnel collapsed. Six workers were caught under the debris. Two of them - Sarosha (28) and Mulugusan (24) died and the remaining four escaped with minor injuries. The deceased both hailed from Orissa state. Bukkapatnam police inspected the spot and registered a case. In another incident, an out-of-control truck rammed into a hut on the road side near Kappalabanda near Puttaparthy mandal. However, no casualties were reported as the hut was empty at the time of the accident.
