The Kerala Police on Friday confirmed that two people deported by the UAE for links with terrorist group Islamic State have reached the state.
They, however, added that the police did not find any connection between them and the ISIS. According to the police, their interrogation did not lead to any concrete evidence in that regard.
The two men from Kochi were allegedly part of a group that participated in forums on social media which has ISIS propaganda.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Kerala DGP TP Senkumar said that not just the Kerala Police, but some other teams also interrogated the two.
"We have enquired them, and so far have not found any real connection with ISIS. Not only our team, many other teams have also met them. All necessary action has been taken," said the DGP.
"So far we haven't found any evidence, if we find any evidence we will take necessary action," he further said.
