Two child labourers rescued in Secunderabad

HYDERABAD: After issuing warrants and notices to business establishments and shops, Labour department officials began their anti-child labour drive on Monday and rescued two child labourers.  S Naresh Kumar, deputy commissioner of Labour-I said they raided various business establishments and small shops on Monday and rescued two child labourers. “We rescued Mohammed Afzal, who is working in Dadu’s Sweet on MG road and Sailaja, who is working in Sheetal Readymade Garments in Swapnalok Complex on SD Road. Penal action as per the AP Shops and Establishments Act and the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act has been initiated against the shop managements as they hired children below 15 years of age,” he added.  “The two rescued children have been shifted to nearby rehabilitation centres where  they will get proper education,” Naresh Kumar said.
