BANGALORE: The civic woes in Padmanabhanagar calls for immediate attention. The bone of contention are the mobile towers, located at 22nd main road and 13th cross.“The mobile towers located here are not only causing sound pollution, but they also have health hazards on residents living in the neighbouring areas,” said Shankar M, a resident. Voicing similar opinion, Rashmi C, a resident said, “All we want is to take some action to diminish the sound pollution that has been disturbing the whole locality.”When City Express spoke to corporator L Srinivas, he refuted the complaint and said that there are no such towers in the area and there were no problems. He added, “Residents never complain to us about the civic issues. It is only if they complaint to us, we can take the required measures.”The residents also complained about the garbage dumped in the empty plots and health hazards attached to it. Rishab Kashyap, a resident of 13th cross said, “The stench from the garbage is unbearable. The civic workers collect the garbage once in a week, but do not clean up the place after that.”When asked about the same, corporator L Srinivas said, “Four days ago, I have complained about this issue to the Health Inspector, contractors and environment engineers. We are awaiting their response in the near future.”
