BANGALORE: Common Colors have announced the seventh edition of the Great Indian October Fest popularly known as TGIOF. This much-anticipated annual event will take place between November 11 and 13 at the Karnataka Trade Promotional Organization (KTPO), Whitefield. This landmark event with an Indian touch has been inspired by the German Oktoberfest and has grown to become a ‘Must Experience’ for people, not just from India but from other parts of the world. TGIOF 2011 presented by Common Colors, is in association with Kingfisher, the king of good times. Established in 2005, year after year the event has grown in scale and popularity, thanks to its ever growing list of diehard fans. Fun lovers of all age groups flock the event to come together and party hard, in what is easily India’s biggest Music festival. This edition will feature a wider gamut of performances from varying music genres apart from brand new activities introduced to suit multiple age groups and preferences.”, said G V Vilas, founder of TGIOF and managing director, Common Colors.He further adds, “We are very excited about the brand new venue that will present the event this year. The Karnataka Trade Promotional Organization (KTPO), Whitefield was eventually shortlisted after a meticulous study of possible venues that can host an extravaganza of this scale. I am looking forward to making this fest an international tourist attraction eventually. As organisers we are also confident that this years’ TGIOF will set a trend in hosting such events in Whitefield, thereby moving away from the crowded hubs in the city.”Vinod Kumar GV, Director Programming and Operations, Common Colors says, “When we say fest, it has to be colossal; we are creating an ambience to give our audience a brand new feel. From the time of inception of the fest, the focus has been more on Indian origin performers, but this year, we are introducing internationally renowned bands like Queen (Tribute band) all the way from the UK and Poets of the Fall from Finland, international DJs - Lange as well as Super8 and Tab from Europe. Bollywood will be represented by Ram Sampath (of Delhi Belly fame) performing on Friday and DJ Suketu, Jalebee Cartel, DJ Chico on Sunday. Apart from this, we are introducing the ‘Music Street’ featuring 25-30 musicians who will interact directly with the visitors and conduct impromptu jamming sessions. Offering a complete package in terms of art, this entire conept is all about breaking new barriers in entertainment.”A melange of music ranging from fusion to reggae/rock, house, hip hop, Bollywood and folk. This would be three days of revelry. The line-up of performances at the October Fest over the three days will span over 30 live performances which include international performers from the UK and Europe. Eminent artists like Ram Sampath, Amit Heri , Rabbi Shergill, renowned DJs like Lange, Suketu and Chicko will be present and rub shoulders with homegrown bands such as Bhayanak Maut & Indus Creed amongst a host of other performers. For all the beer lovers, Kingfisher will present all the brands from its stable and especially TGIOF special beer cans are available in nine metros of India during this period. Various Beer Games will also be organised along with a variety of other games for the family. An added attraction this time is the Karaoke Championship! Currently, day-long Karaoke competitions are being carried out in leading corporate houses in the city. The 125 final winners will compete in the  Championship at the October Fest.There will be over 30 stalls giving the buyer choice from an array of art, clothes, jewellery, trinkets and artifacts from 9 different states, representing the diverse cultural offerings of our country.Also, food courts with over 20 kitchens with covered seating area to host over a 1000 people at a time will be available to cater to the food cravings of visitors. The fest will also bring together some of the top painters and sculptors from across India. Seven painters, four cartoonists and five sculptors will be performing live on two themes: ‘October Fest’ and ‘9 to 5 life in Bangalore’
