NEDUMBASSERY: In the wake of the terrorist attack in Mumbai, the officials of Cochin International Airport swung into action and tightened the security arrangements in and around the airport.
Soon after the Mumbai serial blasts, airport director A C K Nair directed the officials to step up security. The passengers and visitors would be frisked at the entrance of the terminals. All incoming vehicles will be checked thoroughly. The vehicle parking area will be put under strict surveillance.

Additional CISF personnel have been pressed into service. The Dog Squad and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad have also been alerted. The city area of the airport is under strict surveillance. The security personnel in mufti have been deployed in the area.
