New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh Government on Monday roped in the Special Task Force to investigate the disappearance of Nicholas Piramal official Ashwini Bhat and his car driver who are suspected to have been abducted in the vicinity of Gwalior on January 17.
The MP police has launched a hunt in coordination with the Rajasthan police. Police are still clueless as to who could be behind the abduction of the two.
"No ransom call has been made yet," police said.
Bhat was on his way to Gwalior from Indore to take part in the MP Expartek 2008 when the incident occurred.
"We are investigating the case. At this stage it will be difficult for us to reveal anything," MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said on Monday.
Bhat's car was found in Dhaulpur a day later. Bhatt is posted in the company's unit at nearby Pithampur. He was scheduled to return to Indore on Saturday, but his cellphone could not be reached. Bhat's wife Basanti has lodged a police complaint in connection with his disappearance.
