BANGALORE: After boasting about the success of the maiden Global Investors Meet 2010, the state government is on a mission to ensure the success of its second edition by setting up Tech parks in II tier and III tier cities ready for occupation.The IT park in Shimoga and Gulbarga are nearing completion and awaiting inauguration, Principal Secretary, IT/BT and e-governance announced. Stating that the Gulbarga IT Park office space auction was complete, he said that the park in Shimoga would soon go under the hammer. Adding to this, the government has commenced work on the 36 acre IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Shimoga, which is adjacent to the IT Park. Developed at a cost of `250 crore, officials said that trunk infrastructure like power, water, roads, drains, entry/exit points would be developed by the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited.The government has developed a park in Hubli across 3.2 acres and houses business giants such as TCS, IIIT and the SPTI among others. The project which has been functional for a few years now, was part of the gateway to Karnataka venture to ensure investment and development areas other than Bangalore. The park is said to have a business incubator for start ups and is expecting more IT homes for lease and rent at a cost of `9 per sq ft. The IT companies would be provided with concessions as per the current IT policy.
