CHENNAI: Four of the 13 Sri Lankan inmates, from the Chengalpattu special camp, who were on hunger strike for the past 12 days demanding their release, were the last to get medical treatment on Friday. All the 13 protesting inmates were admitted to hospital, but they decided to continue their strike even while they were put up at the Chengalpattu GH.Thirteen Lankan refugees began their hunger strike on September 5 demanding their release. They claimed that except the Chengalpattu RDO, none had visited them since the day they began their stir. “The Q-Branch officials said our release is in the hands of the government. The RDO said he had written about us to the government. Except him, none came to see us,” claimed an inmate. They said that at least three inmates were admitted every day starting Tuesday.
