HYDERABAD: The Federation of AP Minority Educational Institutions has urged the state government to reduce qualifying marks for admissions into engineering and MBA courses in both A and B category seats. In a press release on Wednesday, general secretary of the organisation Zafar Javeed said the qualifying marks should be reduced from 50 per cent to 45 per cent for getting admissions into engineering and MBA courses. He said due to disturbances in the Telangana region and other reasons, the admissions have been affected and as many as 93,000 seats are vacant after the counselling process was completed. He urged the government there are many students who got 45 per cent marks in the qualifying test but could not get admission due to the 50 per cent cut-off.
