CHENNAI: Cheating case accused Ravanan, a relative of Sasikala, was back in judicial custody on Wednesday.The Central Crime Branch police on Monday had been granted custody of Ravanan, who was arrested in connection with a `1 crore cheating lodged against him by a Tiruppur-based realtor, up to February 8. He was admitted to the GH in Royapettah after he complained of giddiness during questioning on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the CCB produced him before the Alandur JM, who remanded him to judicial custody for 15 days. His lawyer told media that a bail plea would be filed soon.2 Smugglers ArrestedTwo passengers from Bangkok were arrested by customs officials on their arrival here after a body search yielded 65,000 memory cards worth `1 crore, at Meenambakkam on Tuesday night. Acting on a tip-off that that electronic goods were being smuggled in a flight from the Thai capital to Chennai, customs officials intensified their vigil on passengers, sources said. On suspicion, they conducted a search of the luggage of Delhi-based Ashok Ratan (56) and Pooja Talwar (30). Since it did not yield anything, they then carried out a body search of the duo. In what appeared to be a novel modus operandi, the officers found several 3G memory cards inside their stockings, stuck to their legs with plastic tape.As many as 65,000 memory cards worth `1 crore were seized from the two passengers. Probe showed that Ashok Ratan ran a textile shop in Delhi and Pooja worked there.
