ALUVA: The Ramayana month will be observed from Sunday with special prayers and rituals. As part of the observance, Ganapathy Homam will be performed daily at the Sree Ganapathy Dharma Sastha temple of the Aluva Brahmana Samooham.Bhagavatha Saptaha Yagnam will mark the beginning of the Ramayana month at Sree Ananthapuram Sree Pallippattukavu temple, Desom. Guruvayur Krishnadas and Thottamattath Remadevi Antharjanam will be the acharyas.Ashtadravya Mahaganapathy Homam will be performed at 5 am on Sunday. Vezhaparambu Manakal Krishnan Namboothiry will be the main celebrant of the Laksharchana on August 15.At Thirumoozhikulam Lakshmanaswamy Temple, the rituals will begin at 4.00 am with palliyunarthal, followed by nirmalyam, abhishekam, ethurthpooja and siveli in the morning.Ramayana recitation and discourses will be held every day. Annadhanam will be served on all Sundays at noon.Laksharchana will be held on August 14, 15 and 16. KSRTC and private buses will operate special services to the temple.Bhagavatha Saptaha Yagnam will begin at Thuruthussery Mukundapuram Sree Mahavishnu temple on Sunday. Pazhedam Vasudevan Namboodiri will be the main celebrant.Sahsranamajapam will begin at 6 am. Ramayana recitation and discourses will be held in the morning and afternoon. Prasada Oottu will be served at noon and evening.Kurumbakkavu Bhagavathy temple in Poikkattussery, Nedumbassery, will witness Ganapathy Homam, Bhagavathi Seva and recitation of Ramayana throughout the Ramayana month.Ramayana quiz for students, distribution of 'herbal kanji' and Ashtadravya Ganapathy Homam led by B K V Achari will be organised by the Poikkattussery Sreekurumba Bhajana Samiti.
