BANGALORE: The 85th birth anniversary of late chief minister Ramakrishna Hegde was celebrated on Monday evening.Remembering her father Hegde on the occasion Mamta Nichani, president of Rashtriya Nava Nirmane Vedike, said that he was known for his value-based politics and was sensitive in addressing problems of the people.Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda,speaking on the occasion, said that the chief minister’s post is like an examination but he was confident that he will pass this with Hegde being his idol.Commenting on the Lokpal Bill Gowda said, “It was Late Ramakrishna Hegde was the one who sowed the seed of a Lokayukta in 1985.It was during his term, that officers researched on the Lokpal Bill.” On the issue of corruption, Gowda said that he will personally stop corruption in block levels and other levels first and will also stop corruption among the people.Former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde delivered the key note address.
