HYDERABAD: The temperature, which touched 43 degree celsius on Tuesday, is likely to come down in the next two weeks with the expected arrival of the South-West monsoon. The weather forecast for Wednesday is 40 degree celsius and partly cloudy sky with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm. According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, the South-West monsoon is likely to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast on June 5 and Hyderabad and Telangana region around June 10. “It will come two-three days earlier than last year. The conditions are more favourable for a good monsoon this year. As the monsoon drift is normal and if it shifts towards southern part of the peninsula, there will be rainfall aplenty,” said Subbarao, assistant meteorologist, Hyderabad Meteorological Centre. According to him, the monsoon has already covered Sri Lanka and if the wind speed is around 40 km/h and depth around 4km/h, it may touch the Rayalseema region around June 5 and Hyderabad around June 10. The average temperature this summer has been around 41.6 degree celsius which is 5-6 degree celsius higher than normal. The Met officials said the high temperature in the last week led to decrease in air-pressure in the entire region creating favourable circumstances for south-eastern winds to blow.
