Railway to accept Aadhaar as ID proof

HYDERABAD:The Unique Identification Card, Aadhaar, has been incorporated as one of the proofs of identity acceptable for undertaking the journey on etickets as well as tickets booked under the Tatkal scheme of the railways. With this, the number of proofs of identity accepted for undertaking journey on the two categories of tickets will become nine.In addition to the Aadhaar card, the eight proofs of identity already being accepted are: Voter ID card, passport, PAN card, driving licence, Photo identity card issued by central/state government, student identity card issued by recognised school/college, bank passbook with photo and credit card issued by banks.
