BANGALORE: In a bid to break the deadlock between the state government and the PU college lecturers, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda convened a meeting of lecturers and the MLCs elected from Teachers and Graduates constituencies on April 19.The CM convened the meeting in the wake of a threat by the PU lecturers to boycott the ongoing valuation of second PU answer scripts from toFriday if their demand for a wage hike was not met. Informing about the meeting, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri appealed to the PU college lecturers to drop their boycott plans and continue with the evaluation.“We are duty-bound to announce the II PU results before the CET on May 3. So, I request the PU teachers not to embark on anything that will jeopardise this schedule,” he said,  adding the government was considering their demands.
