Civil supplies minister D Sridhar Babu has requested the Telangana agitators to keep in mind the “brand image of Hyderabad” while proceeding with the proposed Telangana march on September 30.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Sridhar Babu said it’s everybody’s responsibility to protect the brand image of Hyderabad. “Even after the formation of a Telangana state, the image of Hyderabad should be intact,” he remarked.
At a separate press meet, minor irrigation minister TG Venkatesh said the dialogue process on the Telangana issue was on but the Centre would take a decision only six months before the next elections. The Congress would not take any decision now that would affect its own government, the minister added.
The Seemandhra leaders would go to Delhi in the first week of October to press their demand for Samaikyandhra.
“This time, we have decided to inform the Centre about the need for special packages for backward areas. The packages should be given to backward areas in Rayalaseema and Andhra regions,” Venkatesh demanded.
Meanwhile, home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy held discussions with Praja Sanghala JAC chairman Gajjela Kantam and others and requested them to cancel their proposed Challo Hyderabad rally on September 27. Kantham demanded a categorical assurance on Telangana from the Centre or the state government before they call off their protest.
