Most of the projects that come under the ‘Emerging Kerala’ initiative were, proposed by the previous LDF government, said Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 3rd Mercy Ravi commemoration meet organised by the District Congress Committee at KPS Menon Hall here on Thursday.
He challenged Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, who was the then Chief Minister, and former Minister for Industries Elamaram Karim to disown this fact.
“’Emerging Kerala’ is a dream initiative of the state. However, the government is not adamant on implementing all the projects that are being proposed in the project,” Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said.
“The development drives in the state are stalemated. Like other states, we should give security to investors who come to the state. Some of the proposed projects will materialise, while some others will fade away. However, we wont be giving justice to the coming generations if we shut the door on the investors who approach the state,” he said.
The memorial meet was chaired by DCC(I) president Kurian Joy. Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, Anto Antony MP, K Suresh Kurup MLA, Joseph Vazhackan MLA and district panchayat president Radha V Nair spoke.
