The hydel plants of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company produced 9,617 lakh units of electricity this year, an increase of 31 per cent as compared to the last year. The power plants generated 9,617 lakh units of electricity till July 31 this year, as compared to 7,318 lakh units during monsoon last year, an increase of 31.41 per cent, an official release said in Bhopal.

Due to the good monsoon this season, water level in hydel plant reservoirs is also higher than last year. These reservoirs will remain filled up to full tank level in view of progress of monsoon, the release added.
