Bengaluru: After day one of the two day Bharath bandh called by central trade unions, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) incurred a tentative revenue loss of Rs 5.40 crores.

As of 6pm on Tuesday, only 43.3% of its services were on road. Out of the 5,658 services across its divisions, only 2,450 services were operated.

Meanwhile, only 36.6% of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses were on road. Of its 6,037 services, only 2,211 operated. 45 lakh passengers use the BMTC services on a daily basis.

21.6% of North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation buses operated on Tuesday while only 19.7% of North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation buses operated.

In total, 4,504 KSRTC schedules were cancelled along 18.21 lakh kilometres. 2,513 seats were cancelled and the corporation had to refund an amount of Rs 17,19,421.
