High symbolism attached to reach-out address. Osama threatens US Prez

New Delhi: US President Barack Obama who will be in Egypt on Thursday has continued his goodwill gestures to win over the Muslim world as against antagonizing, polarizing or fighting it.

He has chosen Saudi Arabia and Egypt to launch his peace initiative among Muslims for two reasons. Saudi Arabia is home to Islam's holiest sites.

High symbolism is attached to the US President Barack Obama's address on Thursday from the al Azhar University, an iconic seat of learning well respected in the Islamic world.

The much-awaited speech is aimed at inviting the Muslims for an open dialogue. He will cover key topics which have generated considerable friction between the US and the Islamic world.

Obama's peace initiative began on Wednesday when he arrived in Riyadh to discuss ways to revive the Israel-Palestine peace process.

But it looks like Obama's initiative has hit an al Qaeda nerve. Osama Bin Laden has spoken out against Obama.

Meanwhile in an audiotape aired by al Jazeera television network, the al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden has slammed America's role in Pakistan and has accused President Obama of sowing seeds of hatred against Americans.
