BANGALORE: Annoyed over the lackadaisical attitude of officials, the residents of Kengal Hanumanthaiah Road, Hanumagiri, in  Chikkalsandra, under the banner of ‘Jan Jagruthi Vedike’, are gearing up for a protest in front of the BBMP ward office. “We knew officials are thick skinned but not to this extent. We had expected that officials will wake up from their slumber and attend to this work. Now we realise how much they care for our problems,” fumed a resident.“Enough is enough. We have waited for more than 15 days. We have run out of patience. The residents will carry placards and stage a silent protest in front of the ward office if the road is not repaired before Wednesday,” said another resident. The BBMP claims to be an agency which responds to people’s woes sooner. But, like officials,  even the elected representatives too are lazy and are not bothered to address to the problems of their constituency. Residents question the reason why BBMP is refraining from spending a few thousands of rupees to repair this small stretch of road and allege that the officials and the elected representatives are involved in a blame game. What irks the residents further is that the roads near the houses of the babus and the netas are asphalted regularly. They say that now they have no choice but to tread the path of agitation in a peaceful manner.”We will paste posters and put up banners in our locality against the laxity of officials as well as councillors,” said the  president of the Vedike.
