New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed its second charge sheet against an alleged Jaipur based ISIS operative Mohammed Sirajuddin (33) alias Siraj for recruiting youths to join the outfit and for conspiring to commit terror acts.
The probe agency filed the charge sheet in the Court of Special Judge. Siraj is a Post Graduate student of Engineering and used to work in IOCL as Assistant Manager (Jaipur) till he was arrested on December 11, 2015 by the ATS Rajasthan.
He is a resident of Gulbarga in Karnataka.
"He was arrested for promoting the ideology of ISIS, inciting others to become member of ISIS and indulging in terrorist and antinational activities through Facebook, Whatsapp and Telegram. One laptop (apple Macbook), one dual SIM mobile, two SIMs and one SD card was seized from his possession at the time of his arrest," NIA press release read.
The case was later handed over to NIA on February 29, 2016. "Investigation revealed his association with ISIS operatives from various countries who were actively online propagating, promoting and inciting peoples to join ISIS," it also read.
The charge sheet has been filed under Section 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and Sections 13 (Punishment for unlawful activities), 18 (Punishment for terrorist conspiracy), 38 (membership of terrorist organisation) and 39 (Offences relating to the support given to a terrorist organisation) of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
On Friday, NIA filed its first charge sheet against an alleged ISIS operative Naser Packeer for recruiting youths to join the outfit.
On October 5, 2015, Naser was apprehended by Sudani authorities for concealing his identity and trying to join ISIS in Syria.
