Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma has arrived at the Southern Naval Command on a farewell visit.

The Admiral is retiring from the Indian Navy after a stint of 41 years. Commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1970, Admiral Nirmal Verma assumed office as the Chief of Naval Staff in August 2009.

The Admiral would give a farewell address to the officials of the Southern Naval Command.

He will also visit his alma mater and will be briefed on the various activities of the Southern Command. Verma will leave for New Delhi on Wednesday.
