Mohali: A 10-storey building which is being planned to be erected within a record time of 48 hours will be ready by this evening, a company official claimed. "We are on target in assembling the building, having an area of over 25,000 square meters. By 4:30 pm today, the project should be completed," a spokesman of the Mohali based company said.
The building will not be completed fully within the 48 hours dead line which is only for raising the physical structure, he added. He said, various works, including air conditioning, installation of lighting appliances and making toilets etc functional will be taken up later.
"No time frame has been fixed for completion of these works," he said in reply to a question, adding, only the ground floor will be some what functional. "The furnishing of upper nine floors will also be undertaken later on," he added. He said that nine floors have been completed and work was going on to put in place the last floor.
"The remaining floor of the building marking red and white cream colour texture is likely to be completed by 48 hour deadline this evening at 4.30 pm," he said. The process to construct the 10-floor 'Instacon' sky scraper had started at 4.30 pm on Thursday.
As many as three cranes and over 200 workers, including technicians, are working round the clock to erect the building within stipulated time. "It is an ultrafast technology of construction with less than 20 per cent of work at the site, there is minimal emission of flying dust and less pollution of water at the site," Singh claimed.
He said, they wanted to show, how a utility building can be put in place within no time, using the modern day technology. This construction mechanism has been approved by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Delhi and Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) Chennai, he claimed.
